Amy Matthews was born on Saturday March 29, 1980 in Melbourne, Victoria Australia, but spent most of her early and later life in Sydney, Australia. She studied at The University of Arts in Philadelphia, USA, before returning to Australia, and having guest roles in shows such as All Saints, Blue Heelers and Always Greener. In January 2006 she began working on Channel 7's Home and Away, as Dr Rachel Armstrong, this was her first major role in a television show. She resides in Sydney.
